Education & Teaching HistoryI was a paraprofessional for 6 years when I decided that I wanted to become a teacher. I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree from Arkansas State University – Jonesboro (astAte) in May 2009. I began teaching for JPS in August 2009. I recently completed my Master's Degree in Education and also became a Teacher of the Visually Impaired Certification from Texas Tech University as well as a Graduate Certification in Sensory Impairment and Autism Spectrum Disorders. I graduated in December 2020 with my Specialist Degree in Education Leadership (Special Education Director) from stAte.
I continue to take classes and attend workshops to keep my teaching up to date! You never stop learning! 2011 Teacher of the Year My peers voted me as Teacher of the Year for our school (HWES); then, I was named Jonesboro Public Schools 2011 Teacher of the Year for the whole district. It was an amazing honor and I was thrilled. |
